·
Dec 2001-Present - As a Senior Network Consultant working in
the Technical Services Division of Acrodex, my job is to provide IT consulting
services to medium and large businesses not only in the greater Edmonton area,
but also the province of Alberta.
·
Oct 2000-Oct 2001 - As a Systems Engineer working in the Platform
Engineering division of Quack.com, I was been involved in the integration of
Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) into the AOLByPhone Voice Services
Platform. I also helped define the Data
Warehouse Interface Specifications, to ensure that usage information was
reliably collected, and transferred to the Data Warehouse. I was also responsible for providing and
documenting SNMP-based management tools for product QA and operation.
·
Feb 2000-Oct 2000 - I was a Senior Network Consultant at
CompCanada Atlas, and was the key technical architect for a three-phased
extranet design proposal for a national non-profit native organization.
This included migration from their current network environment using a short,
medium and long-term approach, based on their business requirements. This
proposal also included the incorporation of secure and non-secure web sites,
web-based email, database to web publishing and an e-commerce component,
facilitating the on-line sale of products and literature.
·
Feb 1997-Feb 2000 - As an Associate Technical Consultant at DMR, I played a major role in
forming the Enterprise Management Services (EMS) division within the Edmonton
office. Acting as Enterprise Administrator, I participated in and oversaw the
development and implementation of a “trend-analysis” and real-time automated
network monitoring system to support Service Level Agreements with some of the
Edmonton Business Units’ bigger customers.
·
Jan 1996 - Feb 1997 - As a Network Consultant at Network Technology Professionals, I
provided NT and Novell consulting and implementation services to corporate and
government clients.
·
Jan 1987 – Dec 1995 – At Prologic, I performed in a number of roles of
increasing responsibility, ranging from Technical Service Representative to
Service Department Supervisor, culminating in the role of Sr. Systems
Integration Specialist (supporting the Ovation banking system application),
where I provided pre-sales infrastructure consulting and support, as well as
post-sales implementation leadership and escalation support services. I also provided direct technical support to
many smaller credit unions on a contract or fee-per-service basis.
I was a key player in the drive
to integrate Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) into the AOLByPhone
Voice Services Platform infrastructure.
This allowed remote monitoring and management of a wide variety of
system types through a centralized resource manager. I registered the Quack.com Private Enterprise number, and wrote
and tested the MIB used to manage the Voice Portal. I also wrote custom PERL scripts to collect and present
management data.
I
was the Senior Network Architect in the Capital City Savings banking system conversion (May 1997).
It was my responsibility to ensure that the network, host, branch and
workstation configuration and implementation worked in sync with the
application rollout. Provided direction
and on-site technical management to an implementation staff of 5-10 persons.
Co-authored IT Business
Recovery Plans for Capital City
Savings and Credit Union.
I
was the Senior Systems Analyst and Technical Lead for the Shell Chemicals Canada “Netware to
NT” and “OpenMail to Exchange” migration projects (October 1997). The implementation
staff for this project was 5 people.
I
was the Primary Technical Lead in the successful IS conversion of several other
large western Canadian Credit Unions between 1987 and 1995, including Cambrian,
Richmond Savings, Fraser Valley, IWA,
and Island Savings.
Helped form the Specialized Technical Services
department
within Prologic Computer Corporation, a core support group supporting their
core financial product, Ovation, and the company’s IT infrastructure.
